When in (self) doubt.......

I have always known that the industry I am sure is for me is one of the toughest to get into and even when you're in it, it's pretty damn hard to stay there! That's why you have to stay 110% positive and truly believe in yourself.

I've been completely shocked by the response I've had from some of the Head Honchos in the Media world. The fact that they have even replied to my correspondence with them is a huge compliment in the first place, but some have taken the time to meet me in person, give me advice and help me to see where my 'niche' lies. It really has blown me away and I feel so lucky.

In saying that, I still have my days when I think to myself, "Is this it? Am I just trying to grasp at something which is unattainable? What the hell am I doing?"! (those thoughts occuring in particular after I lodge money into my account and my balance is LESS than I've just lodged........ouch!). Generally, I really do believe that this is what I should be and will be doing full-time, I just need to be patient but there are times when that self-belief flies out the window and I seem to be paddling in a pool of self-doubt.

Yesterday was one of those days, until I read this:
"There is nothing you cannot do, and if you approach all things in life in the right order, you will do everything you want. Live your dream on the inside first, completely and totally, and then it will manifest in your life. When you have tuned yourself on the inside so completely, you will magnetize everything you need for your dream to become a reality.
This is the law. All creation in your life begins inside of you."

I know a lot of people think all of this is a load of crock, but honestly, I have so many examples of it happening in my life that I truly believe in it. Sometimes I just need to read something like that as a little reminder . So now I am going to bounce back out of the pool of self-doubt and open the window to let that self-belief back in, where it belongs :)

Here's to a great and exciting week ahead...

  1. I don't understand 'secret-haters'. If it's not for you, it's not for you. But why try to demean someone else's positivity and the positive effects it's having on their lives? It's pointless negativity in it's purest form. I would never tear somebody down for their religious beliefs, for example, and let's face it, faith is hardly based on hard, cold facts is it?
Luc this is a lovely piece and I have no doubt that your positivity and belief in yourself are the reasons you have achieved so much. They're also undoubtedly the things that give you the strength to keep fighting the fight and we all know that persistence is the name of the game in this industry.
Well done you, you are and will be great!

  2. David, thank you for reading my blog and for your comments. I read the link that you posted and I do agree with some of what is said: I would NEVER state that the power of positive thinking can prevent a natural disaster from happening nor can it prevent negative or devastating things happening to us. I would also agree that we learn from negative experiences in our lives, in fact, I would go as far as to say, it's the only real way we learn.
I would also be of the mind-set that one must figure out where (and why) a negative thought has originated in order to change it into a positive one.
On the other hand, I have aboslutely no doubt in my mind that most of my achievements have happened not only because of positive thinking but with also with a number of other factors, such as hard work, self-belief and incredible support. I am most certainly not talking about monetary wealth as you may have noticed in my post!!
I would like to also state that I have never actually read The Secret in its entirity (yet)but what works for me, is picking up the "Daily Teachings" and sometimes, when I have a moment of doubt, it gives me the kick up the arse I need. I am not religious in any way, nor do I 'preach' my beliefs, I just share my thoughts and as Laura said, "if it's not for you, then it's not for you".

Laura, thanks so much. Like I said before, I couldn't do any of it without the friends that I have, like you :)xxx

  3. Thanks for updating your blog Lucianne and it's nice to see a positive thinker having positive experiences. I don't see how having a positive outlook on life can ever add to the problems faced by our society today. Positive thinking can only be a good thing. It allows people to make the best of any situation. Positive thinkers, while obviously they can't prevent natural disasters, are the ones that roll up their sleeves and get on with improving their lot instead of bemoaning how unlucky they've been. I'm not belittling the unfortunate things that happen to people, myself included, but what defines us as people is how we face up to adversity. I don't agree that positive thinking can affect the outcome of events, as it's important that we stay grounded in reality, but it can affect how we deal with those outcomes. Using the analogy of burning yourself on a hot stove being a healthy negative thought is not saying that negative thinking is a healthy enterprise. In fact, learning from a negative experience is actually positive thinking at work.
    Keep up the good work!

  4. If I am in a moment of anxiety and deny myself that moment by attempting to replace it with calm, via meditation / CBT / deep- breathing etc, I create division between the person-I-am and the person-I-would-rather-be. Where there's division, there's conflict. Some moments are crap ones, some are just alright, others are good, and others still are bloody great! Of this I am sure regardless of whether my destiny has been pre-determined, or everything that happens me is because of every thought I have. Also, allowing the rough to happen when it's happening helps me breathe easier :)

  5. John, thanks a million for your comments and for following my blog. I really appreciate it.

Anonymous: I totally agree that when we have a moment of anxiety/stress/conflict/anger, whatever the negative feeling or emotion may be, we need to allow that feeling to manifest, otherwise it stays within us and the longer it stays there, the deeper it goes!

Once we have done that, we are then able to look at every situation as a positive i.e. we learn something from it and move on. Well, that's what I find works for me :)

Again, thanks for reading my blog and for taking the time to comment :)
